“It was a typical rainy day on the Olympic Peninsula, only it was now July,” Butler explains. “Being a huge fan of wild flowers, I sought out the lovely blue lupine to give a splash of color to the grey skies that were predominate that day. When I stumbled upon this little nook in between some trees, I knew it would be sublime for the ring shots. The hardness of the rings combined with the delicate rain on the leaves made for a killer shot.”
