Says proud mama Roberts: “This is an ode to our love of the forest. Writing poems, needlepoint, walking in the forest, swimming in the river, baking, and making an outdoor fire are the things that seem to be time well spent while staying home in quarantine with a 9-year-old.
Roberts and her daughter look forward to returning to their less traveled favorite nature spots when things reopen fully and a life in quarantine is a thing of the past. “We promise to always leave no trace and take great care of our mountains.”

I love the sunset shining
over the trees and mountains
It just feels like you could
Shout into endless space
I can feel the breeze
Almost taking me away
The open sunlight casting on my face
The way the forest gives me
the feeling of eternal hope
The way the moonlit sky casts a spell
on my heart
It makes me feel like I just want to
float away and dance
With every star
In the night sky
Oh, how I love the forest!
